Mixed Berry Smoothie Recipe

You will need just four ingredients to make this rich mixed berry smoothie.

  •  Milk.  We use unsweetened oat milk for this recipe, but feel free to use whatever unsweetened milk you like. Oat milk is naturally free from lactose, soy and nuts.
  •  Berries. We use mixed berries (blueberries, blackberries, strawberries and raspberries) for this smoothie. You can use either fresh or frozen, but we like to use frozen for a richer, thicker and creamier smoothie.
  • Bananas. We use frozen bananas for this smoothie because frozen bananas also make a colder, richer and creamier smoothie rather than room temperature bananas.
  •  Pure Vanilla Extract. Adding pure vanilla extract to this smoothie makes it taste like dessert.

How To Make Mixed Berry Smootie

  1. Measure. Measure out all of the ingredients and add them to a blender.
  2. Blend. Blend until smooth. If it’s too thick to blend, stop the blender, remove the lid and stir the ingredients with a wooden spoon or spatula to break things up, then add more oat milk for desired consistency and blend until smooth.

How To Freeze Bananas For Smoothies

  • Peel the bananas. Peel ripe bananas and discard the peel.
  • Slice bananas.  Slice bananas into in 1/2 – 1-1/2 inch pieces (they don’t have to be perfectly sized).
  • Cookie sheet.  Lay the banana slices in a single layer on a cookie sheet (you can lay down a piece of parchment paper first if you want).
  • Freeze. Put the cookie sheet with the banana slices in the freezer for 2o minutes.
  • Loosen banana slices.  After 20 minutes lift the banana pieces up from the baking sheet with a spatula so they won’t stick during the remaining freeze time. Then pop them back in the freezer to freeze for about 2 hours.
  • Transfer to freezer bags.  Use a spatula to loosen the frozen banana slices from the cookie sheet and transfer them to a plastic freezer bag.
  • Store in freezer. Store in an air-tight container or bag in the freezer for up to 6 months.
