Buffalo Ranch Dressing
This homemade Buffalo Ranch Dressing recipe is creamy, delicious and has a little bit of a kick to it. If you love traditional ranch dressing and you love buffalo sauce, this spicy ranch dressing is for you!
Buffalo Ranch Salad Dressing is a spicy ranch dressing made with mayonnaise, buttermilk, green onion, garlic, seasoning and buffalo sauce. Not only is it a great tasting salad dressing, but it also makes a really dip to serve with chicken wings, French fries and onion rings.
This spicy ranch salad dressing comes together in about 5 minutes start-to-finish. But you’ll want to refrigerate it for up to an hour (longer even better) to allow the flavors to blend together.
Buffalo Ranch Dressing Recipe
- Mayonnaise. We use real mayonnaise like Best Foods (Hellman’s).
- Seasoning. We add fresh garlic and green onion together with garlic powder, onion powder, salt and freshly cracked black pepper to season this dressing with.
- Hot Sauce. We stir in a Franks Hot sauce to the mix which gives this dressing an amazing flavor and a wee bit of a kick to it. If you want a spicier dressing, then add more hot sauce 1 teaspoon at a time to your liking.
- Buttermilk. This adds flavor and thins the dressing out. You can use milk or water if you like.

Variations
- Substitute the fresh green onion with 1/2 teaspoon dried chives.
- Omit the fresh garlic if you don’t like a garlicky dressing.
- Use milk or even water (about 1/4 – 1/2 cup) instead of buttermilk to thin dressing.
- Add more hot sauce if you want a spicier dressing.
How To Make Buffalo Ranch Dressing
- Blend ingredients. Add all of the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth and creamy. If you aren’t using fresh green onion and garlic, you can whisk everything together in a bowl using a wire whisk or fork. When whisking the ingredients in a bowl, I like to whisk the seasoning in the mayonnaise first, then slowly add in the buttermilk.
- Chill. Refrigerate the dressing up to an hour before serving so the flavors have a chance to blend together.
