This blueberry simple syrup recipe is made with honey rather than granulated sugar. And we blend the blueberries with a little water rather than cooking them in sugar water so we can maintain more of the nutrients that blueberries have to offer.

Blueberry Simple Syrup Recipe

  • Lemons. Just a hint of lemon juice really brings out the flavor of the blueberries.
  • Honey. We use honey for this recipe rather than pure cane sugar. The health benefits of honey can be lost when honey is heated, so we don’t heat the honey to make this recipe, instead we blend or stir the honey with water which dissolves the honey just fine.
  • Water. Dilute with as much or as little water as you like for desired sweetness and consistency.
  • Blueberries. We use about 1 cup of organic blueberries for this recipe. You can use either fresh or frozen blueberries.
